Understanding your performance

Check what a number includes before judging it. Two ROI figures can count stakes differently.

The main numbers

  • Profit/loss: settled returns minus cash stakes and fees.
  • ROI: profit divided by the amount counted as staked. Check how free bets, voids and lays are handled.
  • Volume: the number of bets or completed offers. Check which is being counted.
  • Open bets: unsettled bets, kept separate from finished results.

For ordinary cash back bets, £1,000 staked and £1,030 returned after costs means £30 profit and 3% ROI. Free bets and lay liabilities need their own clear counting rules.

CLV isn't cash profit

CLV compares your odds with a chosen closing price for the same market. Beating that price regularly can tell you something about the odds you're getting. It doesn't pay out money by itself. Check how missing or unsuitable closing prices are handled.

Make a fair comparison

Use the same period, method and counting rules. Include losses and both sides of matched bets. Results from an internal test don't mean members got those same bets or prices.

A good week can be luck, and an overall profit can still include long losing runs. Check mistakes and whether your stakes remain affordable too.
